FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely ophthalmology and may be applicable for surgical management of cataract combined with corneal astigmatism in children. A light slit rotates to adjust a pre-calculated position axis of the toric intraocular lens (IOL). According to the light slit position on a bulbar conjunctiva, at 2 mm from a limb, two laser coagulates are drawn in opposite sectors. After anaesthetising a child, a solution of collargol and methylene blue is introduced into the conjunctival cavity. The position axis of the IOL is marked after the coloured points. It is followed by corneal incision, capsulorexis, aspiration of the crystalline lens mass. After the aspiration procedure is completed, an injector is used to implant the IOL.
EFFECT: method enables the precise position of the IOL axis according to the pre-calculated parameters that provides higher functional outcomes, simplified surgical technique.
