FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rubber band of wiper blade, primarily to vehicle wiper, and method for its manufacturing. The band is made of moulded cured elastomeric material, and its surface has covering layer which is hydrophobic with interfacial angle when wetted by water exceeding 90°, preferably exceeding 120°. Covering layer has prominent structure with micrometre elevations and/or recessions. Covering layer is formed by film applied on rubber band surface which film has surface structure with recessions the depth of which is in average less than 100 micron, and which are located at intervals of 1 to 100 micron. Method of such rubber band manufacturing by curing moulded elastomeric material consists in applying film on rubber and surface which film represents perforated film with surface of prominent structure with micron recessions.

EFFECT: better cleaning quality is achieved.
