FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the technology of sorbents and medical materials. Nanosized hydroxyapatite powder is obtained by reacting an organic calcium derivative and an organic phosphorus derivative in an organic polar solvent with atomic ratio of calcium to phosphorus in the range of 1.6-1.8. Further the solvent is distilled off while heating and calcining the intermediate product at 600-700°C. The organic calcium derivative used is calcium oleate. The organic phosphorus derivative used is tributyl phosphate or triphenyl phosphite. The organic polar solvent used is benzene, toluene or turpentine. Benzene or toluene is distilled off at temperature 70-100°C and turpentine is distilled off at temperature 180-200°C for not more than 1 hour. The intermediate product is calcined for not more than 1 hour.
EFFECT: method significantly reduces power consumption by cutting duration of the process and reducing the calcining temperature to obtain hydroxyapatite powder with stoichiometric composition and particle size and shape sufficiently close to bone crystals.
