FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in orthopaedics, in maxillofacial surgery, in dentistry as an additive to filling material or implants for visual control during their positioning at the stage of placement or during operation. Method of producing bismuth-containing X-ray contrast glass involves dissolving a mixture of sodium oleate, calcium oleate, tributyl phosphate, tetraethylorthosilicate in an organic solvent. Organic solvent used is a mixture of colophony in ethyl alcohol in weight ratio of 1:5. Obtained mixture is heated to evaporation of the solvent and annealed in two steps. Primary firing is carried out at temperature of 900 °C for 30 minutes. Mixture is cooled in an open muffle for 30 minutes and ground with addition of bismuth (III) oxide. Secondary firing is carried out up to 1,300 °C with exposure for 30 minutes.
EFFECT: invention simplifies production of radiopaque glass and increases purity of the end product.
