FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: road signs, traffic control stations, traffic lights and vehicles are fitted with radio-connected signal transceivers and the vehicles are equipped with information displays. Signals on the onset of the action of a road sign, the nature of the information of the road sign and duration of the action of the road sign are transmitted from the road sign to a vehicle passing by. The signals are received at the vehicle and the received signals are identified by the vehicle driver. From the traffic control station to the road sign and from the road sign to the vehicle, information is transmitted on the change in road conditions and the condition of the road surface, the number of lanes on the entire road and availability of allowed lanes in the same direction, on the main sign: 'main road' or 'give way'. Switched signals as well as the remaining time before switching are transmitted from the traffic light of the approaching intersection to the vehicle and said signals are duplicated on the driver's panel. In case of hijacking or an attempt to hijack the vehicle, signals are transmitted from the vehicle to quick response police departments. If a passenger of the vehicle is need of medical assistance, an emergency signal is switched on and information is transmitted to all vehicles passing by to indicate that the vehicle with the switched on emergency signal has a passenger in need of medical assistance. Simultaneously, the information display of the vehicle with the switched on emergency signal displays information on the telephone numbers and addresses on the closest operating medical institutions in the area. In case of emergency situations, SOS signals are transmitted to the Emergencies Ministry office.
EFFECT: method improves organisation of traffic due to quality notification of the driver on the action of a road sign and raising awareness of drivers.
