FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to smoke fumes cleaning and may be used at heat engineering plant combusting sulfur-bearing fuel for removal of ash and sulfur oxides. Proposed method comprises spraying alkaline adsorbent into smoke fumes and catching solids ahead of chimney. Alkaline adsorbent represents fine particles of activated burnt lime or activated lime stone to be sprayed into smoke fumes at 500-1200°C. Relation of sprayed alkaline adsorbent amount to its stoichiometric amount required for sulfur oxide chemical adsorption makes 1.0-1.4. Solids are caught ahead of chimney by wet cleaning of smoke fumes.

EFFECT: higher efficiency, expanded applications.
