FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used to define quality of reconditioning worn-out cylindrical part surfaces. Screen is welded by roller electrode to cylindrical specimen along spiral line with deformation of screen wires to complete elimination of clearance there between. Screen wire transverse plastic deformation is determined subject to formation of solid metal coating on cylindrical specimen surface. Weld joint strength is defined by the formula depending upon screen wire diameter and thickness of metal coating.
EFFECT: higher quality of reconditioned cylindrical surfaces.
