SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, particularly, to ice breakers. Device for concentrated ice breaking differs from known designs in that it is arranged ahead of hull stem and features contact underwater length equal to 5-7 designed ice field thickness, contact underwater height equal to one or more ice field thicknesses, and total underwater height equal double thickness of ice field.
EFFECT: higher ice breaking capacity.
