METHOD OF APPLYING TENDON SUTURE BY GAVRILOV Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B17/56 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics. One thread with two needles on its ends is applied. Tendon is sewn by one needle in transverse direction inside trunk with 2-2.5 cm indent from tendon end. After transverse sewing, on the place of prick-outs prick-in is performed downward and sideward at 45° with each end of thread alternatively in continuous way in double-spiral type. The same threads are used to continue application to 2-2.5 cm on the opposite end of tendon. One of thread ends is brought to the opposite end of thread by sewing. After that, knot is tied up.

EFFECT: method ensures increase of suture strength, tight matching of tendon ends, reduction of load on scar between tendon segments, elimination of blood circulation impairment, prevention of thread cutting through, possibility to endure large load.
