FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to veterinary science and represents the dog Lyme borreliosis vaccine and methods for using it. The vaccine composition contains an immunologically effective amount of organisms of the first strain of Borrelia genospecies and an immunologically effective amount of organisms of the second strain of Borrelia genospecies. The organisms of said second strain show OspA antigen, OspB antigen, or show both OspA and OspB on the surface of its cell, while the introduction of said vaccine composition in a dog induces substantial levels of the burgdorferi 50772 (ATCC No. PTA-439) borreliacide antibodies. The vaccine composition enables inducing substantial levels of the OspA and OspC borreliacide antibodies which in turn able to sterilise infected ticks.

EFFECT: vaccine prevents B burgdorferi ss recovery from skin, serological manifestation of the infection, evident disorders in extremities/joints, erosive changes associated with the infection.
