FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing an electrochemical sensor, placing the electrochemical sensor in an electrochemical cell comprising an electrolyte and a test sample, detecting an oxidation/reduction signal by a recorder. While preparing, the electrochemical sensor is modified by a carbon material absorbing cell metabolites. It is followed by recording the oxidation/reduction signals of the cell metabolites absorbed on the sensor surface in health and disease. The number and value of the oxidation/reduction signal peaks show the number of metabolite groups and metabolite content in each of said groups in test samples. In the device for electrochemical assessment of cell metabolic activity comprising the electrochemical cell with the three-electrode sensor immersed in the electrolyte and connected to the recorder, a printed electrode is used as the three-electrode sensor.

EFFECT: higher reliability of analysis result, diagnostic accuracy in medicine, veterinary science, biotechnology.
