FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: what is constructed is a synthetic gene optimised for expression in plant cells, coding a hybrid protein M2epHBc including an extracellular domain of protein M2 of influenza virus attached to a core antigen of hepatitis B virus. Said protein is produced in plants by constructing a recombinant viral vector on the basis of a genome of potato X-virus. A fragment of the genome of potato X-virus comprising a gene sequence coding M2epHBc has been cloned under the control of a promoter active in plant cells; the whole construct is cloned within a t-DNA region of binary agrobacterial vector.
EFFECT: viral vector and expression system may be used for low-cost and effective production of virus-like particles in plants on the basis of the core antigen of hepatitis B virus presenting on the surface the polypeptides of extracellular domain of protein M2 of influenza virus which can provide the basis to create recombinant anti-influenza vaccine.
