SUBSTANCE: method of manufacturing a plurality of analyte sensors having similar operating characteristics involves steps for: forming a plurality of analyte sensors; testing at least one of the sensors to determine a calibration parameter of the sensor; based on the calibration parameter of the tested sensor, trimming the distal end of the non-tested sensors to reduce the area of the working electrode, thereby changing a calibration parameter of the sensors to a given value. Each sensor has a distal end having a working electrode and a channel.
EFFECT: invention enables to calibrate analyte sensors relative a measuring device by eliminating the need for a calibration code when using sensors with the measuring device.
