FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves emission of a request signal with constant carrier frequency by the transmitter of a base unit through a transmitting antenna, guiding voltage in the receiving antenna of a transponder which powers the entire circuit of the transponder through a rectifier, wherein the transmitter of the base unit operates at a fixed frequency in continuous mode when searching for and identifying an object and in amplitude modulation mode when decoding the controller of the transponder; the transmitter of the transponder operates at a frequency different from that of the transmitter of the base unit; and the distance between the antenna of the base unit and the transponder is estimated from the sampling frequency of response pulses of the transponder. Disclosed also is a system for detection and remote identification of objects which realises the disclosed method. Said system consists of a base unit, having an electric power supply, a radio transmitter with an emitting antenna, a transmitter signal modulator and a modulator control unit, a receiver for signals from transponder which do not have a self-contained power supply, mounted on the identified objects. The transponder signal receiver is provided with a separate tuned receiving antenna, and the transmitter modulator is provided with a switch for switching continuous generation and pulse modulation modes. The transmitting antenna of the base unit is in form of a separate unit which can move in space relative the base unit. The transponder has a receiving antenna connected to a rectifier which is loaded on a storage capacitor, a controller in form of a large-scale IC, which is connected as a load to the storage capacitor, and response radio pulse transmitter which is connected as a load to the storage capacitor. A unit for activating the program for transmitting a response pulse is connected as a load to the storage capacitor, said unit having not less than two outputs, one of which is connected to one of the inputs of the controller. One input of the radio pulse transmitter is connected to one of the outputs of the controller, and the second input of the transmitter is connected to one of the outputs of the unit for activating the program for transmitting a response pulse. The tuned transmitting antenna of the transponder is connected to the output of the transmitter, and the receiving antenna is connected to an amplitude detector whose output is connected to another input of the controller.
EFFECT: high noise immunity of the system, longer range of action, simple transponder circuit, faster data exchange and possibility of accurate location of a hidden object.
