FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: objective evidence of an ability of microorganisms to form a biofilm on the surface of biological substrates is obtained by the use of a solid phase presented by pre-ground and sterilised natural kidney stones. During the cultivation process, the bacteria are adhered to the surface of kidney stones, and biofilms of various intensity are formed thereon. The cultivation is followed by staining of the formed biofilms by a staining agent and extraction of the biofilm bound staining agent in ethanol and evaluation of staining intensity of the alcoholate in a photometer.
EFFECT: invention allows higher effectiveness of assessment of the ability of microorganisms to form the biofilms.
