FIELD: microbiology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to clinical microbiology and can be used in determining effective measures of treating chronic infectious diseases of skin and mucous membranes of a person. Disclosed is a method for assessing effectiveness of antimicrobial action of antiseptic on bacteria in form of a biofilm. Method comprises creating a bacterial biofilm model from any bacterial culture recovered from patient's clinical material, selection of doses of antiseptic action. Antiseptic action on the biofilm is being additionally registrated according to the change in colour of the nutrient medium and its turbidity using a microplate photometer, hole content is being additionally sewed on nutrient agar. Assessment of antimicrobial effect is calculated as ratio of working concentration of antiseptic to its minimum inhibitory concentration, and if the index is 2-4, the antiseptic is considered to be active.

EFFECT: invention improves reliability of the presence of an antiseptic effect, allows determining the bactericidal or bacteriostatic type of antiseptic action on biofilm bacteria, and index assessing efficiency of antiseptic activity increases accuracy of assessing results.
