FIELD: ecology.
SUBSTANCE: burnt solid radioactive wastes related to a class of cellulose materials are ground and mixed with a radioactive oil. Oily wastes are mixed with a sulfuric acid at the initial weight ratio of wastes to a sulfuric acid from 1.0:1.0 to 1.0:2.0 in terms of waterless components. Exposed to thermal treatment under temperature of 20-350°C at atmospheric pressure under conditions of free air access to a reaction area, while mixing a product in a device to produce an ash content of permanent weight. The produced ash content is solidified with binding substances of phosphate hardening.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce volume and weight of radioactive wastes, to simplify technology and design of equipment, to increase environmental safety.
