METHOD OF DETERMINING DYNAMIC VISION ACUITY AND DEVICE FOR ITS REALISATION Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B3/32

Abstract RU 2462174 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine and medical equipment, namely to ophthalmology, and is intended for determination of vision acuity in dynamics. In claimed method of determining vision acuity in dynamics, table of optotypes, located on external surface of cylinder A, is moved with respect to tested person. Each line of table of optotypes represents a set of black-and-white straps of square shape. Between tested person and cylinder A mask with horizontal slot 9 is placed. After that, static vision acuity of tested person is determined by successive movement of mask slot 9 on optotype lines, determining line of optotypes with the minimal dimensions, distinguished by tested person. Rotation of cylinder 2 with optotype table is started with gradual increase of cylinder rotation speed until the moment when optotypes of selected line become immovable for tested person. After that angular rate of rotation corresponding to that moment is registered, time of travel of optotype of selected line to the following position, corresponding to the time of travel on the value equal to double side of optotype-square is calculated by formula where t is sought time - value of dynamic vision acuity, α is side of optotype-square, r is cylinder radius, ω is current rate of cylinder rotation. In order to realise the claimed method used is device which contains table of optotypes, located on external surface of cylinder 2. Cylinder 2 is connected with base 1 by means of vertical axis 5, also connected with sensor of angular rate 3. Device also contains two elements of rotation transmission 4, 7, kinematically connected to each other, one of which 4 is located on vertical axis 5, the other 7 - on outlet shaft of electric engine 6, whose inlet is connected with outlet of control unit 8. Mask with horizontal slot 9, which can move on vertical is introduced into device. Mask 9 is located before cylinder 2 and is rigidly fixed on base 1.

EFFECT: claimed group of inventions is aimed at increase of accuracy of measurement of dynamic vision acuity due to application of continuously moving optotypes.
