FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to burnishing and gaging tools, those for broaching and hardening part bore inner surfaces. Proposed method comprises applying static and intermittent pulse preload along machined surface by waveguide and hammer drive by hydraulic cylinder connected with hydraulic pulse generator. Tool deforming element represents helical taper spring with outer working surface shaped to truncated cone with angle φ=3…5° and, at least, three deforming coils. Note that spring OD may be increased by amount of interference. First and last coils are stiff annular elements. Spring force is selected to exceed static load and be lower than sum of static and pulse loads. Increased depth of hardened layer, better hardening and decreased height of surface micro irregularities result from use of proposed invention.

EFFECT: higher efficiency, decreased electric power consumption.
