SUBSTANCE: method is described of increasing the yield of plant seeds, providing increased expression in a plant of a nucleic acid encoding the protein that regulates seed yield (SYR) or its homologue, and, if necessary, selection of plants with improved growth characteristics. The construction is presented for producing a transgenic plant comprising a nucleic acid SYR or its version encoding a polypeptide SYR or its homologue, one or more control sequences capable of directing the expression of a nucleic acid sequence and, if necessary a sequence of transcription termination, wherein the said control sequence is a constitutive promoter, which a promoter of GOS2 or promoter of high mobility group protein (HMGP). The method is described for producing a transgenic plant having increased seed yield by the proposed construction, as well as the specified plant and its cell.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain plants with increased seed yield.
