FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: quantitative analysis of patient's foetal hemoglobin is enabled by electrophoresis in agar gel with sodium dodecyl sulphate. A degree of tissue hypoxia is determined by the value of foetal hemoglobin in percentage, and the value of foetal hemoglobin within 1.6-2.5% enables diagnosing a mild degree of tissue hypoxia, the value within 2.6-3.5% shows a moderate degree of tissue hypoxia, and the value exceeding 3.5% - a severe degree of tissue hypoxia.
EFFECT: higher effectiveness and reliability of diagnosing chronic tissue hypoxia in chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis that promotes more precise determination of the severity of hepatic pathology in whole, predicting the clinical course of the pathological process in liver and providing well-timed correction of the prescribed therapy.
