SUBSTANCE: invention is designed to predict formation of mixed (HCV+alcohol) etiology liver cirrhosis. The ratio of the D-dimers number to von Willebrand factor activity is determined. If it increases 2 and more times relative to the normal index, formation of mixed-etiology liver cirrhosis is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides the ability to predict liver cirrhosis development at the chronic hepatitis stage and, accordingly, timely appointment or strengthening of therapeutic measures to prevent liver cirrhosis formation, which subsequently, as a rule, leads to death.
