FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: blowdown of metal with inert gas is performed with constant total flow rate; during the period equal to doubled duration of supply period of lump materials the blowdown through bottom tuyere located immediately under the lump material introduction zone is performed at maximum flow rate, and during the rest periods the inert gas is supplied with periodic redistribution of flow rate between tuyeres; at that, maximum flow rate is specified consequently in different tuyeres. Device includes ladle covered with a cover plate with lump material supply opening, and at least three bottom tuyeres for inert gas supply, which are made at the ladle bottom; at that, one of the bottom tuyeres is located coaxially to lump material supply opening.
EFFECT: invention allows improving metal working efficiency in the ladle owing to improving mixing, degassing and removal of non-metallic inclusions, reducing the consumption of argon and volatile matters, as well as shortening the metal working period.
