FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: controlled transformer comprises a hollow magnetic conductor 1 with magnetic fluid. In the upper part of the magnetic conductor there are holes 3 for connection with atmosphere and holes 6 in the lower part connected by pipelines 7 via hydraulic pumps 8 with a reservoir 9 with a magnetic fluid. The magnetic conductor comprises separate hollow sections 11, which are not communicating vessels. Each section 11 is connected by pipelines 7 via a valve 10 and a hydraulic pump 8 with the reservoir 9.

EFFECT: higher efficiency during voltage control and possibility to change rated capacities and voltages of a transformer.
