FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, particularly traumatology and orthopaedics, and is intended for treating and preventing infectious complications of long bones fractures. An external fixation apparatus is applied on a bone injury area, and fragments are fixed with the use of wire-rod elements introduced into a medullary canal. Bone fragment osteosynthesis is combined with aspiration of an injured segment exudate by introducing a drainage aspiration tube into the medullary canal of the long bone. At least the wire-rod elements are introduced into a cortical layer in one of the fragments tangentially at 1-2 mm from a drainage tube wall, and through the cortical layer into the medullary canal with a pierce through the drainage tube at 0.1-1 mm. The exudate is aspirated through the drainage tube at 0.15 to 0.35 atm.
EFFECT: method provides creating favourable conditions for fracture consolidation, preventing postoperative complications.
