FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: voltage measuring devices are connected to the accumulator battery and its accumulators. During operation of the accumulator battery, voltage across each accumulator and the accumulator battery as a whole is measured quasi-continuously with a constant sampling time interval. The measured values are recorded with possibility of storing and accumulating measurement results over the service life of each accumulator. Using the measured voltage values over a period of measurement, which is more than one sampling interval, a dimensionless coefficient for the condition of the accumulator is calculated, said coefficient being the ratio of energy given by the accumulator over the measurement period to the value of energy corresponding to the average value of energy given by accumulators in the accumulator battery over the measurement period. Evaluation of the technical condition of the accumulators and culling of faulty accumulators is carried out based on deviation of the value of the dimensionless coefficient from 1 over the measurement period depending on operating mode requirements.
EFFECT: continuous monitoring of the technical condition and culling of accumulators in all operating modes of the accumulator battery and the power supply system as a whole, without stopping operation of the power supply system and the accumulator battery.
