FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for purifying tetrafluoromethane. The apparatus is a radial membrane module consisting of high and low pressure chambers separated by a membrane. Each chamber has a distributing disc which provides flow in the high pressure chamber from the periphery to the centre, and in the low pressure chamber - from the centre to the periphery, and at least two flow splitters connected in series or in parallel, which are connected to the inlet nozzle of the high pressure chamber and/or the outlet nozzle of the low pressure chamber and/or simultaneously to the nozzles of the high and low pressure chambers. The invention also relates to a method of purifying tetrafluoromethane using said apparatus.
EFFECT: use of the present invention enables to obtain tetrafluoromethane with impurity content, determined via gas chromatographic analysis, of less than 1-10-4%.
