FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine includes piston installed in cylinder, air inlet device, outlet device, indirect-fired combustion chamber interconnected with cylinder and having near and far ends relative to the piston, passage opening interconnected with cylinder and combustion chamber on its near end, device for creating spiral vortex air flow in combustion chamber, which has tangential velocity component directed in combustion chamber circumferential direction, and axial velocity component directed from near end of chamber to its far end, fuel atomiser, control device of fuel injection process and spark ignition; according to the invention, far end of combustion chamber has a concentric projection passing into the chamber and facing the near end and forming an annular groove together with combustion chamber periphery; besides, projection has ignition plug seat interconnected with the above groove through the hole through which the spark can enter the fuel-and-air mixture flowing in the groove.
EFFECT: improving reliability of spark ignition owing to preventing the ignition failure due to soot formation.
