FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device for measuring parameters of electromagnetic pulses with rise time of hundreds of picoseconds has a primary measuring transducer in form of a section of a double-wire asymmetric microstrip, the space between the electrodes of which is filled with dielectric material with permittivity higher than that of the surrounding medium. The design of said device additionally includes new structural components, one of which is part of a microstrip of defined length with air filling, i.e., without dielectric material. The other structural component is a continuation of the grounded electrode beyond the end of the section of the microstrip towards the source of the electromagnetic pulse. The width W of the grounded electrode of the microstrip is selected based on the ratio to the width a, of the polarising electrode with air permittivity, based on the condition of the asymmetric microstrip W>>a.
EFFECT: possibility of measuring parameters of electromagnetic pulses with ultrashort rise time.
