FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to fine hardening of part surfaces. Gear wheel blank is swung by burnisher gear wheel engaged therewith. Said burnisher gear wheel is fed radially. Said burnisher gear wheel comprises hub jointed with rim divided into parts arranged perpendicular to burnisher axis. Rim every part is composed of disc that may vary its position relative to burnisher axis and adjacent disc. Outer working surface of every disc is composed by round steel wires with ends bent out and shaped to teeth. Said wires are rigidly secured on the disc is two transverse lines with wire rods arranged across tooth direction. Wire rods in contact with index head and blank tooth index root are made separately to form their appropriate transverses line. Surfactant layer is applied on rod working surface.
EFFECT: higher efficiency, increased depth of hardened layer, decreased roughness.
