FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat-treated glass with a diamond-like coating for use in windows, bathroom doors etc. At least one diamond-like carbon (DLC) based layer is formed on the glass. A protective film, having a free layer, and an oxygen-impermeable layer are formed on top of the DLC layer. The glass with the layer containing DLC and the protective coating are heat-treated at temperatures sufficient for thermal quenching, heat hardening and/or high-temperature bending. The protective film is removed during and/or after said heat-treatment. The free layer is made from zinc and/or magnesium oxide and has thickness of 100-1000 Ǻ. The oxygen-impermeable layer contains aluminium nitride.
EFFECT: providing effective protection of the diamond-like carbon layer from burning and possibility of easy removal of the protective coating.
