SUBSTANCE: method involves pre-activation of crushed birch bark with steam at temperature of 180°C and pressure of 3.4 MPa for 60-240 minutes and subsequent acylation with propionic acid at temperature of 130°C for 0.5-4.0 hours.
EFFECT: high output of the product and shorter duration of the birch bark acylation process.
