SUBSTANCE: surgical apparatus is designed to be coupled with a pneumatic instrument. The pneumatic instrument comprises a stitch/cutoff mechanism. The stitch/cutoff mechanism is movable between an idle position and an actuated position. A pneumatic drive system functions in the connection with the pneumatic instrument and selectively applies at least a stitch/cutoff force to the stitch/cutoff mechanism of the pneumatic instrument. The force value is high enough to make the stitch/cutoff mechanism travelling between the idle position and the actuated position in response to gas flow supplied from a gas source. The gas source is found in the pneumohydraulic connection with the pneumatic drive system. At least one feedback device is connected with the pneumatic drive system.
