FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and may be used for cataract extraction by ultrasonic phacoemulsification. An instrument comprises a body with an in-built wave guide comprising an ultrasonic vibration concentrator with a needle on a working end, paired piezoelectric cells and a bearing sleeve in the centre of which there is a canal for eye fluid aspiration. Between the body and concentrator, there is a cavity to be filled with an irrigation solution. The concentrator is made of titanium and subject to torsional superplastic deformation with a rotation about an axis of symmetry at an angle of 90 to 570°.
EFFECT: using the invention enables reducing a degree of repulsion phenomenon, prolongs a time of lens fragments within a field of an effective ultrasonic exposure, provides the concentration of a cavitation cloud near a hollow needle end, and increases a cutting ability of the ultrasonic instrument.
