FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: compounds, each containing at least one element from a group comprising rare-earth elements, alkali-earth elements, silicon and nitrogen, react at high temperature, where a small amount of oxygen is intentionally or unintentionally added. The obtained phosphor has general formula AE2Si5N8-2xCxOx:RE, where AE is an alkali-earth element, RE is a rare-earth element and x is less than 1.
EFFECT: phosphor has stable optical properties, longevity and high efficiency.
