FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: ball-type primary transducer of flow of electroconductive liquid consists of a cylindrical housing with an annular channel in which a ball can freely rotate, a fixed jet-directing apparatus and a unit for tapping the electrical signal. The ball is made of dielectric material with zero buoyancy in the liquid. There are two electrodes in the region of the annular channel, perpendicular to the rolling path of the ball, through bushing insulators and flush with the surface of the annular channel.
EFFECT: high accuracy of conversion owing to a lower threshold of sensitivity and nonlinearity of the static characteristic, providing independence of the value of the output signal from the flow rate of the liquid, simple design and low cost of the transducer.
