FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: lymphocyte DNA is recovered from peripheral blood, and further T45G polymorphism of adiponectin gene is identified by polymerase chain reaction with following restriction analysis. If T45T genotype of adiponectin gene is found, a risk of developing metabolic syndrome is predicted.

EFFECT: method is high-specific; it may be used for early prediction of a risk of developing metabolic syndrome in the patients with abdominal obesity.
