FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method to predict the risk of essential hypertension development in individuals of Russian nationality, natives of the Central Chernozem Region, including DNA isolation from peripheral venous blood and gene polymorphisms analysis is proposed. When a combination of genetic variants of matrix metalloproteinases is identified: AA rs1320632 MMP-8 genotype and C rs11225395 MMP-8 allele, high risk of essential hypertension development is predicted.
EFFECT: invention allows to form risk groups among individuals at the preclinical stage and to timely implement the necessary therapeutic and preventive measures in these groups to prevent the disease development.
