SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous application of coatings on separate flat substrates. Plant 10 for continuous application of coating on separate flat substrates 30, in particularly, of basic quadrangular shape comprises the following elements. One flexible covering ribbon 20 to transfer coating material on flat substrate surface. Means 21a, 21b to displace flexible covering ribbon and means to transfer flat substrates. One inker 11 to transfer coating material on flexible covering ribbon 20 and means 12, 13, 16 to feed coating material on inker 11. Note here that inker surface has, at least, one recess 14 to make coating missing with no coating material in transfer of coating material from inker 11 onto covering ribbon. Note also that recess 14 represents a slot directed parallel with roll rotational axis. Mind that, at least, one outer edge of said slot is skewed. Besides, said plant may comprise means 41, 42, 43, 45 to apply protective ribbon 40 on edges of substrates 30, 30? to overlap gap between said two substrates.
