FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to modification of octogene with an epoxy compound with a curing agent which is capable of altering physical and mechanical characteristics of explosives. The method of modifying octogene involves preparing a solution of epoxy resin E-44 in freon, mixing at temperature of (20±5)°C for 8…10 minutes until complete dissolution of the resin and adding octogene in three equal portions for 5…7 minutes in weight ratio of (0.3…0.5):(300…400):100, holding while stirring for 20…30 minutes and additionally adding a solution of a curing agent - polyethylene polyamine to freon in weight ratio of 1:(4…5) for 10…15 minutes, and the weight ratio of the epoxy resin to the polyethylene polyamine is equal to 10:(1…1.05). Freon is distilled and the product is dried for 1.5…2.0 hours.
EFFECT: invention improves explosive characteristics of mixed solid rocket propellant and lowers the temperature of the beginning of intense decomposition of components.
