FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: on the 7-10th postoperative day, diagnosing and further approach are of critical importance with specifying whether an existing plate shall be left for healing or replaced by a new one to avoid developing purulent complications. For the purpose of evaluating a rate of developing granulation tissue, tissue fragments are taken from an incisional wound during bandaging. The fragments are used to produce micropreparations which are examined for an average area of neovasculature with the use of a microscope, a photography tip and computer programmes for image processing and statistical data processing. If the value is 1500+3 mcm2/mm2 or more, a favourable clinical course of the healing process is predicted. If the vasculature area is less than 1500±3 mcm2/mm2, a high probability of developing complications is predicted, a necessity to replace a xenopericardium plate is stated.
EFFECT: improved assessment accuracy.
