FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: binocular system consists of two lenses, two eyeglasses, a gimbal suspension mounted on a chassis, a movable inertia system mounted on a ring of the gimbal suspension and having two degrees of freedom, said system including a reversal system and a cantilever of the movable inertia system, a magnetic spring which links the movable inertia system with the chassis, a movable system vibration damper having a damper plate attached to the cantilever, which is made from low-resistivity nonmagnetic material, and a magnetic element for the damper which is mounted on the chassis. The magnetic spring is in form of a core of magnetically soft material which is mounted on one side of the cantilever on the movable system and a permanent magnet for the magnetic spring, which is mounted on the chassis with the pole in the direction of the core. The damper plate is placed on the opposite side of the cantilever. The magnetic element of the damper is a permanent magnet which is mounted with the pole in the direction of the damper plate. Contours of the projection of the magnetic element on the damper plate are directed along projections of the principal axes of inertia of the movable system on the damper plate.
EFFECT: design of an image stabilised system having a small size and weight and which ensures identity of stabilisation characteristics for different directions of vibration of the chassis at different frequencies.
