FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: shield for equipment for geophysical exploration in wells (logging) has an external layer in which there is reinforcing fibre which lies in a matrix, and an internal layer which contains material capable of absorbing slow neutrons and is embedded into the matrix. The material which is capable of absorbing slow neutrons is selected such that it emits induced gamma radiation with energy outside the selected energy range.
EFFECT: providing necessary protection from radiation or absorption thereof.
