FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: spectrozonal position-sensitive gamma radiation detector comprises a scintillator which is in optical contact with a photodetector, wherein the scintillator consists of two or more cylindrical sets of fibre scintillating elements embedded in each other and separated by cylindrical X-ray or gamma radiation filters; in each cylindrical set, the fibre scintillating elements are arranged in parallel to the axis of the device, are provided with light-reflecting covers and light-permeable coatings; opposite ends of the fibre scintillating elements are connected by optical connectors to two fibre-optic guides situated at the opposite side in optical contact with two photodetector arrays, the number of photosensitive elements in each of which is equal to or greater than the number of fibre scintillating elements.
EFFECT: high angular resolution when determining the azimuthal distribution of gamma radiation in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the housing of the device.
