FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: flow meter has a cylindrical pipe made from nonmagnetic material to whose outer surface are welded two electrodes. Said electrodes lie diametrically opposite on a line which passes through the centre of the channel of the pipe. The flow meter also has an inductor, having an inductance coil and a magnetic conductor. The magnetic conductor consists of two pole plates, two columnar cylinders connected to the pole plates, and a clamp which clamps both columnar cylinders. The pole plates and the columnar cylinders are placed on one side of the pipe such that the axes of each pole plate and the columnar cylinder pass through the centre of the channel and form between themselves an angle of less than 180°. The inductance coil lies on the clamp such that the line which connects electrodes is the axis of symmetry of the coil.

EFFECT: simple design of the flow meter.
