METHOD OF HIP REPLACEMENT IN COTYLOID BONE DEFECT Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61B17/56 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely orthopaedics, and may be used for hip replacement in cotyloid bone defect. A hip joint is approached. Capsulotomy is followed by whirlbone dislocation. The whirlbone is processed with a concave form cutter with preserving an autoplastic material of the whirlbone in the form of hemisphere as much as possible and with removing a cartilage and a subchondral plate. A femoral neck is transected. The whirlbone is removed from the joint together with the neck. The formed autograft is dissected away. Within a cotyloid defect, a convex form cutter is used to form a spherical bed after the diameter of the autograft. The autograft is placed in the defect and temporarily fixed with wires. The cotyloid is formed. The wires are removed. The autograft is fixed with cancellous screws. A cotyloid component of the endoprosthesis is placed. A hip component of the endoprosthesis is implanted. The endoprosthesis head is reset. The wound is closed.

EFFECT: method provides preparing the bone autograft with minimal loss of the bone mass, creating a full contact along the whole surface between the autograft and the bed within the cotyloid defect, early osteointegration, adequate support of the endoprosthesis cup, reduced length of the defect bone grafting.
