FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railways vehicles, particularly, electric locomotive shunters. Proposed method consists in electric power takeoff from contact circuit to supply traction motors. At constant voltage sections, electric power takeoff is realised from constant circuit by DC sections to supply traction motors of two sections while at variable voltage sections, electric power takeoff is realised from contact section by AC sections to supply traction motors of two sections. Shunter consists of two DC and AC sections. AC section incorporates step-down transformer, rectifier, and smoothing reactor. Traction motors of two sections are interconnected to make integral DC power circuit.
EFFECT: non-stop motion in changing from constant voltage to variable voltage sections.
