FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and may be used continuous casting. Proposed barrel comprises tubular case 10 with teeming channel 12 and outlets 18.1, 18.2 to feed melt into smelting bath S. Chamber 20 is arranged at second end 16 of case 10 to extend along metal melt beyond said outlets 18.1, 18.2 toward first end 14. At least, one connection hole 21 is arranged between chamber 20 and teeming channel 12. Minor gas bubbles present in melt flow move in direction A, medium gas bubbles move in direction B while major gas bubbles move in direction C into chamber 20. Then, major gas bubbles get via hole 21 into melt flow at section 16 of case 10. Said bubbles are reduced to fragments by melt flow to get into smelting bath.
EFFECT: ruled our slag penetration by gas bubbles, ingress of slag into melt.
