FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic chemistry and particularly to a method of producing 3-(o-,m-,n-methoxyphenyl)-tetrahydro-2H-1,5,3-dioxazepines, which involves adding a catalyst Sm(NO3)3·6H2O, o-(or m-, or n-)methoxyaniline to a mixture of formaldehyde and 1,2-ethanediol which is prepared at 20°C for 30 minutes, in molar ratio o-(or m-, or n-)methoxyaniline: formaldehyde: 1,2-ethanediol: Sm(NO3)3·6H2O = 10:20:10:0.5, followed by mixing at room temperature (about 20°C) for 50-70 minutes in chloroform.
EFFECT: method of obtaining separate 3-(o-,m-,n-methoxyphenyl)-tetrahydro-2H-1,5,3-dioxazepines, which can be used as antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral agents, as well as in fine organic synthesis.
