FIELD: silane crosslinking catalysts.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to silane crosslinking catalysts for crosslinking grafted plastomers used as a replacement for ethylene-propylene-diene rubber. The silane crosslinking catalyst contains: from 75 to 85 wt.% olefin-acrylate interpolymer, from 15 to 25% of the mass. a hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) having a number average molecular weight Mn of 1500 to 4000 g/mol; and optionally up to 5% of the wt. wax. Said olefin-acrylate interpolymer is an ethylene-butyl acrylate (EVA) copolymer having an O-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH3 butyloxy group content of 15 to 20% by weight. relative to the total ethylene-butyl acrylate (EBA), and/or a melt flow index of 5.0 to 10.0 g/10 min (ISO 1133, load 2.16 kg, 190°C). The silane crosslinking catalyst is free of tin, carboxylic acid(s) and sulfonic acid(s). All weight percentages are given relative to the total weight of the silane crosslinking catalyst. The crosslinkable composition contains: (1) a grafted ethylene-alpha-olefin plastomer containing a silane crosslinking agent in an amount of from 0.1 to 10% of the mass. relative to the grafted ethylene-alpha-olefin plastomer, and (2) a silane crosslinking catalyst. The invention also relates to a process for crosslinking an ethylene-alpha-olefin plastomer, a process for producing a fluid transfer product in the presence of a silane crosslinking catalyst, a fluid transfer product, a vehicle containing a fluid transfer product or a hose, and the use of a crosslinkable composition. to replace ethylene-propylene-diene rubber for the production of products.

EFFECT: replacing the ethylene-propylene-diene rubber by grafting alkoxysilane groups onto an olefin; and crosslinking the grafted intermediate with a specific catalyst to control the rates of the crosslinking reaction.
